Below are some poems I wrote for Aaliyah over the years:

5 years without you

Your laughter made us smile...
and although you have been gone for a while,
We will never forget your face...
but we know there exists a better place,

Sometimes it's hard to see the lives of others move on...
especially knowing the places you would have gone,

We miss you winter, spring, summer, and fall...
we know you had the ability to do it all,

You were one of the few precious things we admired in the world...
we will forever remember you Aaliyah, the music industries first 'Babygirl'!

Happy Birthday Aaliyah

Angel I miss you, I wish you were here,
I thought of you this Christmas, and at the New Year.

Your often thought of many a day.
I hold you in my heart, and that's where you will always stay.

When you were here you gave so much of your love.
Now you have beautiful wings, and are flying high above.

The thought of your pretty smile reverses my gloom,
Your inner and outer beauty would always light up a room.

On this, your birthday, we celebrate it with pride..
knowing that you are in a better place as we keep your memory alive.

So, Happy Birthday, Miss One in a million, loving you we will never regret.
We will continue to celebrate your legacy, so your name people will never forget.

Aaliyah, my heart holds so many memories of you, I think about you everyday.
I will end this poem by saying, I Love you, wishing you a Happy Birthday!

BABYGIRL....

BabyGirl...[Better known as Aaliyah]

Gracefully she danced to her every wicked beat,
Looking like a beautiful swan, ever so light on her feet....

She was so adorable with a beautiful smile,
A Woman of beauty, Michael and Diane's Child...

She was a daughter, a sister, a Lover, a friend,
with a unique voice that we all enjoyed hearing for hours without end....

Aaliyah, sweetbaby, I miss you, more than you will ever know,
I wish that you were still here with us, and didn't have to go....

I miss your laughter, and joking with your friends, family, and all those you loved,
our hearts are so heavy at times, but we know you are in a better place, in heaven above...

I wish I could hear your voice again and watch you perform,
An angel was truly released on earth the day that you were born....

We will never forget you precious Babygirl,
You will forever remain in our hearts, Our #1 Princess in the entire world...

Aaliyah I Love you..............

I can't believe you're gone;
I can't believe it's true
that such an unexpected passing
came upon you.

You were so dear to us,
such a wonderful and sweet friend.
I can't believe for now, we won't
be able to see you again.

It hurts so bad inside to lose
someone precious like you.
I'm thankful for God's comfort cuz he's the only one who can help me through.

In the midst of the darkest nights,
I can still see your beautiful face. I think
of all the great memories that will never
be erased.

Never knew that pain could hurt
so hard, and so deep, until the day you
left us....and closed your eyes to go to sleep.

Sometimes I break down inside, and my heart gets a little weak, the tears fall fast,
and I have no words to speak.

Be Strong, I say to myself, we will
meet again one day....but until then, I'm glad I have these precious memories of you that will NEVER go away.

I love you Aaliyah!

DIANE: THE MOTHER OF AN ANGEL

LOOK AT HER BEAUTY, LOOK AT HER SMILE,
SHE'S THE MOTHER OF AN ANGEL, THAT WE WE'RE BLESSED
TO ENJOY ON THIS EARTH FOR MORE THAN A WHILE..

AALIYAH WILL ALWAYS BE OUR ANGEL, BUT SHE WAS DIANE'S FIRST,
OUR HEARTS PAIN SO BAD FOR HER, BUT WE KNOW DIANE'S PAIN IS WORSE..

WE LOVE HER, DIANE, AND WE LOVE YOU TOO.
IT HURTS ME THAT YOUR HEART HOLDS SADNESS
AND I WISH THERE WAS SOMETHING I COULD SAY OR DO...

SHE RAISED AALIYAH WITH CAREFULNESS AND SHE RAISED HER RIGHT,
AND NOW OUR PRECIOUS AALIYAH, IS AN ANGEL IN FLIGHT...

YOU WERE HER BEST FRIEND, THE BEST MOM TO HER THAT YOU COULD BE.
YOU LET HER PERSUE HER DREAMS, AND SHE WAS SO HAPPY AND FREE...

WHEN I SEE YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE, I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK OF BABYGIRL,
AALIYAH IS SO SPECIAL TO US, MORE RARE THAN A PRICELESS PEARL....

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH SHE BROUGHT US JOY AND HAPPINESS.
YOUR PRECIOUS DAUGHTER, AALIYAH, SHE TRULY WAS THE BEST....

Angels Wings

God gave another set of wings one day,
to a sweet woman, and now she's an angel up above,
she was a very precious friend of ours,
whom we all knew and still love.

He knew what he was doing,
when he took her by the hand,
you see he needed another angel,
to sing in heaven's Angelic band.

I know it's hard to understand,
it may seem impossible for you and me,
but I'm glad she's with the angels,
and as happy as can be.

I know she's happy to be with God,
for he has wrapped her in his love,
she's smiling down upon us,
singing sweet melodies from above.

We're not sure when it will happen,
but our life on this earth will one day end,
I know when it's time,
Aaliyah will be amongst the Children of God saying,
'Welcome, nice to see you friend.'

I Love you 'BABYGIRL'!
